She had a fella come into school to do something or other, and before he left they had a chat. He lives in the Cotswolds and travels the country visiting schools. He does about 75000 miles a year. He told her he's just traded his five year old car in with 372000 miles on it. They still gave him £3000 for it as it cost him nearly £40000. The tyre shop know him by his first name as he gets four sets a year from them. Jeez ;D
Of course, she never asked him what car it was. ::)

Or even what colour!

And I thought £10,000 depreciation over two years/140k miles on the Seat Altea was bad ;D
And that was only £12,500 new :D

Ive driven an 03 C5 with 335540 miles on it, and in the north of sweden it is not uncommon to see 370000+ big Citroens on sale....

Modern cars, if looked after, will do starship miles, esp if driven on long journeys all the time. We just get fed up with them and get shut.

Is this how you feel about the Astra? :)
-
My astra is staying where it is. When it goes wrong I shall ask advice on here, but don't hold your breath. :)

I predict a new car before Christmas. The green snotty one will be history before Big Ben welcomes in 2017. :P

Around here they don't have the best reputation. The joke is French cars rust already in their brochures. :)
I know somebody with a 2013 Picasso who had all sorts of problems till he sold it. And a friend has a Renault and keeps complaining about it and the rust is taking over.
I never saw one with such high mileage. But it's interesting to know they are out there. ;)
