It'll be chaos, and there will have to be something very special to tempt me to turn up.
AIUI there is no on-site parking, and they're going to try and make you park at Lincoln Showground and bus you in. 60,000 punters, at 60 per bus is 1000 + bus round trips. I bet they'll lay on perhaps 20 busses? When the red arrows finish their display, everyone and their dog is going to attempt to leave at the same time. It'll be carnage. And if the weather is pants....
Add to that there is basically only one road in and out, and frankly it's asking for trouble.

The Glastonbury of air shows then.

Driver115 - went to the Caistor fireworks the other week - didn't realise there was another OOFer so close by!
Can't wait for the this, and thanks for posting Baza! :)

The other rumour on the plane spotting sites is that no (or very few) fast/heavy jet aircraft will operate from Scampton - with the probable exception of the Reds. Apparently the runway has degraded over the years to such an extent that only lighter jets are now approved - Hawks basically. Unlikely the larger types - C-17, RC-135, Voyager etc will be on the ground there, and any flying will take place from Brize/Waddo/Coningsby.
I also wonder how co-operative HHA will be. Will their Hunters, F-4's and Su22 be on display?

Diamond Black Geezer - yes, you replied to one of my posts a couple of years ago when my 2.6 got written off outside of our house by a hit and run driver, still have the 3.2 manual though
The wife thought the local fireworks display did not last long :), and most visitors who parked outside on the street seem to leave quite early as well
