Good luck with the MOT :y
Ive got a yellow plate stuck on the tailgate of mine........thats got the MOT expiry date on.....so I can hardly forget :D

Oh and forgot to say......ring the MOT place before you set out.....dont let them just tell you just bring it down...appointment not required....tell them its expired and ask them to book it in.......
Just in case you get stopped on the way there and get given a producer.....then your legally covered :y

You sure they still give out producers? If ANPR says no MOT, that's all they're going to listen to.

They do coz records can be out of date.......even upto a few months!
I got one a while back coz computer was showing no insurance....when it had been insured by me for a couple of weeks :y

Car may well be driven on a traders insurance policy and showing as uninsured on the database as the cars are not always stipulated on the certificate. I think that some insurance companies only require notification of aquired vehicle if owned/used for over 14 days....
Also, if the computer at the issuing MOT garage is broken, think there is some method in place for a certificate to be issued thats not always shown on the MOT database??

Well done Paul :y
I thought the point was that you are allowed to take a (expired mot) car to the garage (mot , or subsequent repairs) as long as there is a pre booked appointment (how you prove that I don't know)

They can contact the garage and check during the day. At least she has got a clean bill of health for another year :y :y

Then you're lucky - some forces would have your car towed if their ANPR said no insurance in force, and you'd have to cough up the £105 release fee and £12 a day storage fee even if you did have cover.

Indeed, SWMBOs clit passed its MOT but computers were down, instead got a hand written / filled in MOT on a red form. Was sufficient to tax car etc. Can be exchanged when computers are up for up to 3 months from MOT date :y
