Title: Hum Strange one
Post by: Stargazer57N on 16 November 2016, 23:06:41
I had a strange happening with the old girl on Monday, went for a drive with the wife, youngest daughter and dog parked up by the beach in Portsoy went for a walk and a coffee came back and the Omega wouldn't start. Tried a few time but just cranked over but wouldn't fire up not even a fart or pop. So thought sod it I'll call the RAC as I could hear the battery was starting to get low.
Two hours later Rac man turned up turned the key a couple of times and she fired into life, making me feel like a right twit. He followed me home and the car ran sweet as a nut and has been ever since bar from a slight miss fire Tuesday morning after stopping to pick up some ciggies on my way to work. In fact she seem to be running better that ever and has more power now. Thinking it might be the crank sensor at fault so have order a new one which I'll fit on Friday.  Strange.
2.2 Dti by the way

Much more likely to be a cam sensor problem on a DTi.  ;)

I didn't think the 2.2 diesel had a cam sensor?

Well after three days of traveling back and forth to work covering 220 miles with no issue she died on me 200 meters from my house. Luckily enough my new crank sensor arrived today which I changed at the road side and she fired back into life. Hopefully that's her fixed now.
