Title: Thats the chrimbo batch of....
Post by: TD on 20 November 2016, 17:13:28
Pickled eggs done  :)

BUT not like I usually do them....I usually buy Sarsens pickling vinegar and add some chillies and garlic along with the eggs.

This time about pint of vinegar in a saucepan with various pickling spices with added chillies garlic and ginger.
Bought to the boil and left to cool down. Doz eggs in jar, pour over strained mix from the saucepan.

Job jobbed  :)

The eggs could be a tad warmer I reckon  :D

Very bad year for sloes this year, so no sloe gin this year  :(

You haven't tried this years....could be rubbish as I'm using a different approach  :-\

Tho the smell from the saucepan when the mix was boiling would certainly clear any blocked noses  ;D
If the eggs dissolve in the mix.....I reckon I could have just invented a home made paint stripper  ;D :D

Blimey.

I always thought that I'd had a go at eating most things, but I have never eaten or even tried a pickled egg  ??? My life is obviously incomplete until this is remedied  ;) I'm assuming that they are nice then ?

So, come of the above comments so far regarding pickled eggs . . . .

It's not exactly clear to me that they are some delicacy to be relished, am I wrong ?
