Title: £26000 benefits handout?
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 10 December 2016, 13:57:17
What happened next?.......Channel 5 broadcast this some time back in February.

Did the families in question thrive, survive, or end up back on the dole?

Well....the idea was for them to make their own way through life and not scrounge. :)

Probably an impossibility, all gone on scratch cards & fags.

Probably an impossibility, all gone on scratch cards & fags.

There are plenty of intelligent and educated people currently on the dole who could have made the experiment work.

The problem is this.....Channel 5 (for the purpose of  entertainment) gave the £26000 to people who were extremely unlikely to rise to the challenge and 'make a go of it' :-\

Shame really.

Yes know what you mean Opti but for some reason TV likes to choose individuals who are " not quite up to it".

Yes know what you mean Opti but for some reason TV likes to choose individuals who are " not quite up to it".

They set it up so people would throw things at the TV an shout " you lazy f*ckers, you don't deserve that money"

If the people they picked did well then much of the 'entertainment value' would be lost.

As you rightly say, the TV producers delight in picking people who are a lost cause. :-\
