I realise that if you are reading this, you probably don't have a problem, but if someone else does, or the problem occurs in the near future, this may help.
Windows 10 latest update is causing some problems, I've had at least 5 phone calls since the weekend. The details are here, along with 2 suggested "fixes"...... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-38301548
Stupid BBC are publishing links to fix, and MS have created a patch to fix, however, if you can't connect to the internet because of the problem ............. :( (DOH)
Thes "fixes" don't always work, especially on laptops for some reason, however another possibility, which, so far, has a 100% success rate for me is:
right click the windows logo bottom left, choose "Command prompt (admin)"
In the text box that opens up type : netsh winsock reset
press enter:
Reboot system
Enjoy your fully working wifi connection :)
Hope that helps anyone with the problem.

Thanks Entwood. I have forwarded this on to Mrs 944 who seems to be getting this issue almost daily :y
Do you know if the M$ patch is a good fix for this?

mmmm .. simply .. no I don't know !!
The fix I gave above has solved the problem and allowed folks to connect to the internet, windows 10 has then done another update - KB3206632 - which is supposedly the "fix" .. but the problem has already been solved, however, no-one, yet, has had a recurrence after the second update .... so together they seem to work !!
HTH !!

MS have released a fix. The temporary fix is restart (not shut down, and power back up).
You know if you're impacted, as you wont get a DHCP address when it plays up. Its currently unclear if setting a static IP overcomes the issue until you get the fix for it.

No problems here, before or after the fix.

My laptop was doing that. I ended up reinstalling an old driver which fixed the problem.
