Anyone on here used Jenveys throttle body kit for v6 ?? or know of anyone who used it. if so how was it ?
on my 3.2 will 2.5/3.0 rocker covers go straight on my later coil on plug head so i can use ignition leads with a proper coil pack (this is for if i go aftermarket management i know cant be done electrically as standard. as mine is coil on plug not dis pack)
anyone fitted stainless 3-1 manifolds and downpipes to their v6 if so any reviews or info on it??
anyone running aftermarket management if so so what are yo running ???
also whos had the most out of their v6 ?? looking on vectra owners and few other places throttle bodies and exhaust are reckoning around 300bhp+ someone has apparently done it but cant find the car

Almost sod all improvments can be done to 3.2, it can't handle much more power than it has due to cooling limits.
I don't know of anyone running modified throttle bodies and DIS pack with leads on 3.2.
Any gaines would be marginal. :-\

He's talking about ditching the entire induction system, and replacing it with 6 individual throttle bodies like THIS (http://www.jenvey.co.uk/products2/throttle-body-kits/opel-vx-v6-sfs42-throttle-body-kit-ckvx06) run by an aftermarket ECU. That will allow for more radical cams, and all together make considerably more power than stock. 300hp doesn't seem unreasonable, but is going to be very costly.
3into1 manifolds are a build-them-yourself item, and the Omega engine compartment is going to make that a very difficult job.

How much :o
That's reason never seen that setup on an Omega, might as well buy a V8 5 Series for that.
-
Or V8 Merc W211 like you, serious power with stock setup.

That's my opinion too, or a V8 Lexus, which is tunable to a lot more power for similar money to a 300hp X30(I reckon you'd need at least £5000 to do it successfully)

Jenvey kit is smidge over 2k...
Management around 700
Header and downpipes 640 off the shelf from germany
Its worth doi a few bectra owners have done it to 3.0 and seen fantastic results 300+ bhp in omega be good with the four long geared auto box .. taller diff 60 in first .. should go quick not slow anyways
7.3-7.5 0-60. ... ive raced 3.0 xf c320 mercs and more and omega surprises all standard..
Yes could go and buy a 550i for 8k.. but dont want a 5 series..
With about 4k i reakon i could have it running on throttle bodies management exhaust and maybe evem tweak suspension and habe a stonker omega ..
Car owes me nothing so still half price of a bmw
Btw again will 2.5/3.0 rocker covers fit my later heads are gaskets same so that i can install plugs and leads??
-
Manual Plod Omega will do that 0-60 without any mods :-X
-
Why do you need to use older rockers? Just remove the coil packs?
You are going to struggle here, no one has done any massive engine mods to the 3.2. Apart from a software "flash" to get minor improvements, 99% of us run standard engine setup.
Given your budget and apparent skills with a spanner, I'd look at dropping a V8 engine in :y

You may find using the German exhaust manifolds a challenge as they don't consider the presence of the steering box on the 1-3-5 bank side (as its on the 2-4-6 side for the left hooker).
Would be very interesting to see the V6 with throttle bodies although I do wonder if it would be easier on the wallet to use bike throttle bodies and get a manifold knocked up.
-
Have been tempted by bike throttle bodies .. run bike carbs on sierra so know who to knock a manifold haha
Didnt know that but once git hold of them can be modified nothing a tig set and pipe cant sought out

My auto does it thays what was saying and as standard they are not slow so with 300ish bhp should be nippy for size of car

Two questions...
1. Will the gearbox last more than five mins?
2. Is a half second gain on the 0-60 time worth £4k plus box?
Ten out of ten for imagination though ;)

vectra rocker covers will fit late head
321 manifolds engine out job
as other say you need about £5k to get omega v6 close to 300BHP

auto box is bullet proof used in all the holdens and corvettes .. you can buy hi stall torque convertors for them aswell to aid launches off line
2. Is a half second gain on the 0-60 time worth £4k plus box?
who mentioned 0.5sec gain ?? i didnt .. with 300bhp and good gearing you probobly looking around 6 secs to 60 in comfort and a car which will surprise everyone..
the question was never asked on opinion on money or worth it for however quicker it makes it...
just had anyone done certain things and did certain things fit or not
Ten out of ten for imagination though ;)

Omega uses a different gearbox to Holdens/Commodores... expect it to shit itself at that power/torque ;D
Suspect your current 0-60 times are 'optomistic'...
-
Omega gearbox only bullet proof if right power goes though, Ar25 with a fully chipped BMW 2.5 TD engine will shred itself. Ar35 will handle more, but not levels you suggest. Manual is better for that.
Still flogging a dead horse trying to up power of stock engines, V8 replacement would be a far better choice. There are full specs kicking around for LS1 V8 install.
-
If you have the money anything is possible.
There's a reason GM pulled the V8 omega,
1 engine bay temperature's
2 cost. and rising fuel prices across Europe.
and before you say Holden its a wider shell.

Not for RHD...
