I think I am going to have to get one of these Titter accounts so I can find out what is actually going on. Have built my inner core sanctum today. Going to get more tinned foods and bottled water tomorrow.
Serious question. ;D ;D When I get my acct will I have to follow/like?/friend Trump to get up to date info.?
Shares in armaments companies might be a good buy.

Just go to @realDonaldTrump page and click on the follow button on the right.
Follow the right people and journalists and you will find newspapers are slow and poor when getting the latest news, which makes them redundant.
-
I'm sure Donald will be sensible enough not to start WW3. ???

Why do I have the lyrics to Pink Floyd's 'Sheep' going around in my head :-\

Out of the three dominant global powers US, China and a weak Russia, Trump is already picking arguments with China which plays into Putin's hands. Personally, I think Putin has something on Trump and is playing him as his patsy.
Trump has now picked a fight with the US security services. The last US president to do the same was Richard 'Tricky Dicky' Nixon and we all know how that ended. ;D ;D ;D

As bent as as nine bob bit. I remember 'Watergate' well.

Russia is not weak — their latest military kit is pretty darn good.
Also, Putin is not playing Trump. With regard to Donald's latest tweet, it should be seen in context:
WaPo reported today that after Putin said he intended to fortify Russia's nuclear arsenal, Trump tweeted that "until such time that nations come to their senses about nuclear weapons, we must also strengthen our nuclear capabilities."
The MSM will delete Putin's remarks (obviously!) and just concentrate on smearing The Donald.
For what it's worth, I think Trump and Putin will get on pretty well. they know the common enemy. ;)

I think it will make for an uneasy alliance. Sooner or later one or the other will say " I'm the big swinging dick around here and don't you forget it"
It's likely to be Putin who says that......he seems a bit of a closet queer. :-X

You don't think that Putin takes a longer view than Donald Oh look, a squirrel Trump then?

I certainly think that Putin is far more intelligent than Trump.
-
What do people think he was going to say ?
" Hey Vlad, have a few of ours mate if your feeling inadequate :o"
With the money you save, I know where you can get some nice cluster bombs that you can chuck around in Syria :(
By the way, comments came about 2 hours after Putin told the world he was upgrading his lot and tbh, with the newer Russian and Chinese defences, Trump is spot on :)
What's the point of having nukes if you can't turn the enemies city's into glass car parks ;)

I think that Russia and the US have enough nuclear weapons as it is to turn the planet into an irradiated inhospitable desert, without building more! :(
Put this into the context of the efforts of the last 30 years to reduce nuclear weapons and you have realise what a pair of dickheads they are!! >:(

I understand were your coming from Sir Tiggs but as a ex military man I can tell you the what the yanks have is pretty much what they had 30 years ago.
30 years ago, most of what the yanks had would have got through to do the job they was designed to do.
Problem is, the Russians have caught up and some ways, may have a advantage.
This means that it is probable that the whole lot is no longer a deterrent :(
Because Russia is so spread out and with these capabilities, MAD is no longer assured so the world becomes a very dangerous place :(

Developing new, more efficient, smaller, more easily delivered weapons of any kind, goes hand-in-hand with developing defences against such weapons. If the US develops a super-duper weapon of mass destruction, it must also develop the means to protect itself against such a weapon, in case it falls into the hands of the 'enemy'.
Espionage plays a big part in any weapons programme (I still can't believe how easily Pakistan managed to steal plans for a nuclear weapon), and this is what keeps the merry-go-round spinning. It's no good at all having 000's of nuclear weapons that can't penetrate sophisticated defences so, the development is not so much looking for a bigger bang, more being less easy to stop.
I'm fairly sure that the final frontier will be space (yes, I know ;D) where weapons able to deliver a killer ray to anywhere on the planet will be secretly orbiting under the guise of being 'communications satellites'. Try defending against that bastard.
I am convinced that humankind has an in-built death wish, and all it will take is two nutters who refuse to back down, even at the expense of the planet. Whether you believe Trump and Putin fit the bill is up to you. Let's face it, even in a peaceful, harmonious world, the chances of us being here in a thousand years is virtually nil.
Happy Christmas.

I'm 100% certain I will not be here in 1000 years. ;)

What, you don't fancy the cryogenic option? ::)
