Title: fault code p0571 "Cruise control/brake switch "A" circuit malfunction"
Post by: omega2018 on 24 December 2016, 15:54:21
my cruise has stopped working :'(. this was immediately after i fitted a new stop light switch.  so i just re-fitted the old one (wish i'd left it alone) which was working for cruise always and for the stop lights after I had fiddled with it (see previous thread http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=138168.msg )

fault code p0571 still showing.  at first i thought the new switch is the wrong one but now i am wondering if i need to reset something? annoying as i have a long drive coming up over new year :(

Get a meter on it, that will prove. Anything else is speculation.

Nothing to reset.

ok here's what has fixed this:  i disconnected the battery about 11am today and re-connected it about 5pm.  fault light now off, cruise now working, brake lights still working.

Which I guarantee has done SFA (given its a Bosch Motoronic), so what else did you do at the time.

i can only tell you what i did.  before the power off the light was on and the cruise not working,  after the power off (and I did nothing else) it is all fine.
