Title: Gutted
Post by: JonArgraig on 30 July 2008, 18:49:24
Had my dog put to sleep to day,

16 years old...

I'm sat here in bits, held it together all day at work too...

off to the pub.

She was a cross breed Hound and God knows what, a family friend was breeding them as a hunting dog,

She was great...

Used her as a tracker in my security line of work and she was my best mate as a young turk.

I wont be replacing her, I've got a cat but he seems to be restless him self

:'( Oh Jon, I`m so sorry to read that; I can only imagine how you must be feeling.....the 'true' love our dear animal-companions show us is a perfect privilege; when they leave, we have the memories of their love and loyalty and a big, dog-shaped hole in our heart. :-*

i seriously believe that people and animals can die of a broken heart

a man 2 doors down from me died within months of his wife dying and i'm pretty certain there wasn't anything wrong with him

That decision takes courage and plenty of it. I salute you for that.

I also wish you the best for the coming days. My Grandad used to say life isn't easy - this is one of those times that he was 100% right.

I hope your path through this is ok. It will help to remember the good times.

My sympathies are with you I know how you feel I had to have my weimeraner "Dino" put to sleep just before christmas because of kidney failure at the age of twelve :'( the hole left was almost unbearable they are part of the family. After six weeks I got another Weim pup he is great, but he has a hard act to follow.
