Title: Nissan cvt auto..any good?
Post by: Varche on 12 January 2017, 23:02:43
Still looking for a second vehicle.

Looking at a 2.0 petrol auto nissan but a bit put off by CVT. noise? Engine always seems to be racing and so on comments. In an ideal world i would test drive one but only 3 for sale at moment in Spain that fit the bill. Nearest is four hours away in Madrid.

Anyone have an opinion or experience of CVT?

SWMBO has had two Micra 1.3 CVT.

Because the cars were so small & light they were quite nippy and quite capable of cruising on the motorway at 70+

5mph or more and the CVT works really well, the CVT always seemed get the ratio just right. The bit that concerned me was creeping traffic where you can feel the CVT engaging and disengaging with some disconcerting graunching.

1st one was side swiped by a Lithuanian HGV on the M25. 2nd was tail-ended by an Audi when she was waiting for a gap on a roundabout so we never did get to find out how many miles a CVT can do before needing attention :(
