Title: Runway Enduro 926
Post by: Shackeng on 16 January 2017, 16:42:48
I have just removed a pair of these from the front of my TD Estate. They had only done 7500 miles, were evenly worn, had at least another 4k left, but were wandering all over the place. The previous version, 916, was a much better tyre on the Omega, and a pair did 13k with no issues. Tyre man tells me that the 916 tread has been around fro 30 years or so. Why fix it when it ain't broken? >:(
I've fitted a pair of Rainsport 3's, which feel nicely planted, for now! :y

Managed 18K from a set of 916s... Found the 926s just about adequate and a whole lot less inspiring.

I'm impressed. Mind you I do tend to change mine just before the marker. This time it was well before!. >:(

To be fair, that was after a full suspension rebuild, and possibly one of the most precisecset ups that car received  ;)

My TD had new suspension, bushes, geo etc not so long ago, but the Enduro's on the front...Ugh!

Suffering a bit of wandering on my daily driver (ie. constant corrections required) but in my case it's down to a worn steering idler.

I thought that might be the case with mine ( I have a new idler on standby) but the new Rainsport tyres have cured it. In fact they feel brilliant. :y

I found that the Runway tyres tend to have cracked sidewalls after not so many miles...

Had a set on mine when I had it, took it back and had the tyre place swap for Bridgestone Potenza's (wasn't that much more ££ per tyre).... The Bridgestone's fealt so much better....

The 916 punched well above their pricing... the 926 was mediocre at best and more money, which makes them doubly disappointing  :(

I had two budget Windforce tyres, recommended by my friendly tyre man, fitted to the rear of the estate 2k ago. Feel very grippy wet or dry, and so far so good. He tells me that he gets a lot of sales of these due to requests for the same again. Just saying.... ::) :y

Yep, agreed. Had a few sets of 916s and they were a real bargain for the performance they offered IMHO.
