Title: Key fob switches
Post by: Magwheels on 20 January 2017, 17:55:07
Does anybody still sell the fob switches found on the three button fob?

If not does anybody know if they are available from RS etc?

Mine are starting to play up.

Cheers

Best buying an o haul kit from the bay .get one thst includes all 3 switches ,new battery and case to put your innards into.there are some with a red light and some without so check for the correct one.  Whilst apart make sure the battery holder is still attached properly.they can come off on one peg

Didn't think of looking for a repair kit of fleabay. Cheers for that.   :y

Have found the required parts though some searching but a "kit" might be the easier way to go. Checked the battery and it and the connections are fine, its mainly the lock button that is getting intermittent but might as well change them all once its apart.

Has anybody used one of these kits?

Soldering not a problem, still got the means to do that, eyes more of an issue nowadays but got some x3 glasses (China £1.99) I use for intricate stuff, they are great unless the work piece is more than about a foot away.........my eyes aren't that bad.....yet!

Def looks like that's the way to go and found some UK suppliers so all good so far.

Found the genuine switches the manufacturer used, seems they are used in a variety of manufactures fobs.

The originals are 13yrs old so at least I know the replacements should last at least half of that.

KSR251GLFS in case any body needs them, RS Components with free delivery.

Happy days.

Ordered Friday delivered today, good old RS.

Fitted them and they work perfectly, didn't realise just how bad they were getting.

Like new and all for less than 3 quid.  :y
