Title: Another newbie
Post by: Griffith500 on 22 January 2017, 17:27:52
Just registered on the forum. I'm on my 2nd Omega , both ex police cars, both white, both  3.2, and both estates. My current Omega is 03 reg and quite low mileage . It was never stickered and was probably used as a staff car rather than a motorway vehicle.

My other one has been retired for a year after a fair amount of body work damage to the front caused when parked in an industrial yard. I still have it , kept as a potential source of spares. It had reached 1/4 million miles and was still going strong.

Look forward to corresponding in the future.

Peter

Hi Peter

Welcome!

It is always good to have two Omegas. One to drive and one to set up.

I also have two Omegas. My pretty lady (saloon) is for summer use only. In wintertime I trust my hard working Caravan.

My last Police one managed 275k, 180k of which was in the six years I had it for, and is still on the road 8) don't let a bit of panel damage put it down... it was a Cat C twice yet still on original running gear 8)

Hi Gollum

My four pot winter estate has 288k on the counter. Last years only winter use. Not pretty, but runs like new.

Yesterday I saw a 1982 2.3 Ghia Granada. Dark green metallic. Stored over 20 years, only 54k on the counter. Mint condition. Fall in love again...

180k miles, barely run in ;D

I would have liked to see mine past 500k miles, but once I stopped using it as a taxi, that was never going to happen anywhen soon :'(

My Caravan is a real hard worker. I drive him every week with 6,000 electronic cases on board over the "Big Divide" (Continental water divide Rhine/Danube 950m)  from Lahr to Donaueschingen. Often I hear ice and snow scratching under Caravans bottom. But a good friend bring you forwards.

My old lady (my saloon) stays sleeping down in Lahr, waiting for the summer....
