...it's getting realy difficult to find anything with an MOT that actually works for less than a bag lately :(
-
Yup. I think used motors generally have gone up. Or rather you get less for your money.
TBH I suspect it's the times we live in. People treat most things as disposable so there's little incentive to take care of anything. Also, 4-5yrs of belt tightening austerity means little scope for preventative maintenance at the bottom end of the motor market.

Unless you want an Omega ;D

Hi Doctor!
Except continental situation. Useable Omega B are straight following the Senator B prices.

Twenty years ago it was easy to buy a usable MOTd car for £100 that day. That was not caring what you ended up with: mk2/3 Cavaliers, Sierras, Granadas, whatever. Now you need more like £500 for it to be easy. Throwaway snotters are fun ;D

With only 33k miles & rot in the inner wing, I`d offer him a monkey for it :-\
Mot runs out in March

Proof the world is ending... A not particularly tidy omega ends for £800 in the middle of the day... (with only the usual amount of ebay shill bidding).

With TUEV (German MOT) you have to pay here minimum 2000 € for that...
Rare perfect Omegas - one owner, low milage, full service, perfect condition - are are starting at 5000 €
3 1/2 years ago I bought an PFL for 300 €. One year MOT, not pretty but usable. These times are over. For that amount you will get a doner car without papers today.

I restored the old lady last year. She got new MOT last June. Actually she is sleeping for the winter. My Caravan is doing the winter job.
