Try having a white dog. Both she and I are really pissed off with the hose down every day. Everything just seems dirty, I'm ashamed of the back of my car.
Still........double figures midweek.......apparently  :y

Is white a common colour for a whippet?

Damn right. Just had energy bills. Shite  :o  scary

Sometime I wish we'de got a nice modern energy efficient badly built house instead of a solid but very inefficent Victorian fridge. Even in Winter it's sometimes colder inside than out  ???

My fuel bills for Dec and Jan were £160 per month. Don't get me wrong, the old house is warm enough (in patches, with cold spots) but the boiler is really working overtime.

To be honest it`s not been that bad this year, we have lost very little time at work due to low temperatures  :y

Not cold, just grey and miserable. If it's minus 3, my dog (and me) stay clean. If it pisses down on a daily basis, and the temperature hovers around 2-3, it's just....miserable.  :(

£160 PM . . . .So about £460 for three months. Mine was around £650 for three months, plus coal and logs for Rayburn and Log Burner. Rayburn soaks up about £12 a week, Log burner about £2 a day when we use it . . .

Sod it, can't be arsed to work it all out. I just know that if we had a nice small boring 3 bed something, it would be much cheaper and I'd have more cash to spend on cars or wine, or down here it would possibly be wacky baccy.

I pay £75 per month for gas and electric, 4 bed detached, in winter the heating is on 6AM-11AM, then 4PM-11PM. House full of tech and gadgets running, I had a letter 2 moths ago, my bills went down by £2 a month  ;D

My heating is on 24/7.

Even if I did that to mine, i'd still expect change from £100/m  :-\

I know.

My house built sometime 1880s. Walls are almost 1 mtr thick in places. Foundations are probably a bit crap as most below house is rock, therefore damp has nowhere to go. Like I said a modern house would save a fortune, probably cheaper to buy as well. Four bedroom, but rooms are huge with high ceilings etc

On the up side, and there are some, very decent garden, lots of car parking space, and walking distance to Town centre. AND . . . . . I can practise my drums. But energy bills are really bad.

My heating is on 24/7.

I very much doubt it is RUNNING 24/7.... even if selected on .... mine is "on" 24/7 at the moment, but with thermostatic radiator valves in every room, and a well calibrated, well positioned house thermostat, decent insulation, plus keeping internal doors closed, once "on temperature" the boiler cuts in very infrequently as all it is doing is "topping up" any losses. I actually did the full test a year back where I compared 24/7 running with the sort of time scales Tunnie mentioned, the boiler actually runs LESS on 24/7 than it does on timed heating as the house cools down a lot more when the timer is off, so the house structure has to be reheated. .....   :)

WOW ! I'm impressed

So, not just it's cold so turn "on". It's not cold so do not turn "on"

You are not comparing the same thing....

Some peeps are quoting per month payments, some actual bills.....

My heating is on from 5am to 7am and then 4pm till I go to bed.....except Sunday ... 6am to 12am, then 4pm till......

I pay £40/month, but my last recent bill for 3 months was nearly £200 (£55 leccy/£140 gas) .....

Obviously my monthly payment is lower than what I have used in the last 3 months....and will be lower for the next 3 months as well...but over the summertime it will even up  :)

You need to live in a stone house. They don't warm up, even in summer.

"You need to live in a stone house. They don't warm up, even in summer. "

They don't, they really don't. If it gets really hot in summer we just go inside, better than Air Con  :y

I think you missed my point.....

I was trying to point out that peeps wernt comparing like for like......  :)

And btw I don't live in a modern house.....its about 100yrs old....but I must admit its not made of stone....they had invented bricks a hundred years ago where I lives  :P

No, you're missing the point. You pay less in summer because your house gets warm. Ours don't.

No, your definitely missing the point.....I'm NOT saying peeps are paying more or less because of how their house is built....

Some peeps were quoting per month payments and some were quoting quarterly bills.....totally different....and nothing to do with how their house is built....

For example Rog said his was £650 for 3 months.....so I assume a 3 month bill....tunnie said his was £75/ month....so I assume a monthly DD of £75.....you carnt compare apples with oranges  ::) ;)
