Title: You know what else really grinds my gears...
Post by: X30XE on 15 February 2017, 16:31:02

When you ask someone on ebay for a buy it now price and they respond with "make me an offer".  How the hucking fell am I going to make you an offer on a car I havent even seen?? Reason I'm asking dipshot is to see if you're crazy the cocunut and expecting £5k for a car that's clearly only worth £1k; in which case I won't waste my time coming to look.  ::)

I've had that a few times. My stock response now is: Look mate, I'm trying to buy it, I can't sell it as well.

I just say "I have £1K, but that's only if the car is exactly as described with no faults"

If they say "I won't take less than £1500" then you know where you stand.  If it's local you go and point out the faults and Haggle hard, and if It's not local, you say "Well, If you decide that it's worth less, can you let me know, but at present I can't commit that much to any car however perfect"

If they say "£5k" you can say "Thank you, I'm out"
