Title: Finicky indicator repeater question
Post by: GastronomicKleptomaniac on 17 February 2017, 15:45:47
Ex-plod has the clear side indicators - since he is Moonland grey metallic in colour, I want rid of the orangey bit inside and just to use silver bulbs. Yes, I am incredibly picky. Before I start pulling yet more bits off him, is it actually possible to remove the orange coating?

(Yes I do have a hundred more important things to do...)

Got the bulbs kicking about the garage already - its the lense I want to decolour, ISTR there being a little orange dome inside. Might try nail varnish remover though :y

If it's not a silly question (which most of mine are ) :o, what are the silver bulbs for?

Is it legal to have non orange indicator bulbs? I like the idea of them being non orange - it's just a bit different from all the others!

Vehicles used after Sept 1965, indicators must emit an amber/orange light. Taken from MOT testers` manual

Silver bulbs flash orange but are invisible when off - loses the fried egg effect! :y
