Title: CCR2006 - radio auto seek not working
Post by: Andy H on 24 February 2017, 22:35:14
As above. The radio in the Project MV6 picks up the channels preset by Rog fine (apart from the Welsh ones....) but the auto tune fails to find any working stations at all, it just keeps going round and round.

I can't find any reference to this in the users manual but I have this notion that FM in Europe uses a different size step between transmission frequency to FM in the US.

A consequence of this would be that a radio configured for auto tune in one area would be rubbish at finding stations in the other area.

1. Am I halfway correct in this?
2. Does the CCR2006 have a way of switching between US and European frequency steps?

According to this http://www.epanorama.net/documents/radio/radio_differences.html (http://www.epanorama.net/documents/radio/radio_differences.html) I am on the right track with my first point. Still don't haven't determined if the CCR2006 is switchable though :-\

I would just mention that it used to work fine, and then stopped. This was quite some time ago. You'll also find that the CD cassette gets stuck now and again. This is often sorted by complete power disconection, this is why the complete unit can be just pulled out without the keys. I removed the locking thingys inside.

I was wondering if there was some magic key combination that changed the tuning interval (that could be pressed by accident in the same way as there is for the number of display digits).

I like the way that the original VX head units integrate with the car but I will probably end up sticking my Blaupunkt DAB unit in so am just seeing what can be done with the CCR2006 without spending any money.

Is there a way of displaying the code index by pressing buttons?

Could be an Aerial problem, the tuner will vote to the strongest signal on the first couple of Band Scans, if any are found, then reverts to normal reception sensitivity after more scans, where as pretunes channels are received as normal. whats the Stations its is picking up on a 4th or 5th scan, if National BBC Channels and the like, they Transmit in KW's compared to local stuff of around 200 Watts ish.
