this maybe is answer,
(http://i67.tinypic.com/2cgojg3.jpg)
must say I say some different states of filter but this one is in top 3
-
Niiiiice. Mmm the smell of neglect :)
-
A 3.2 I had in for breaking years ago had one in a similar state. The bottom end wasn't so much seized solid as welded into one mass.
-
I remember years ago bying a manta and the owner seeming proud of the fact that he had had the car for a fair few years and covered over 70k without a single oil change.! .when we took the rocker cover off you couldnt see the rockers as they looked to be covered in a big black box ! !. Solid oil. When we took sump plug out nothing happened. Engine was still running .?
-
And it's out of a PSA/Ford DV6 1.6 litre diesel :(
For gods sake, an oil change isn't sooo expensive.. >:(
-
Is it possible that's out of a 2.0 hdi Peugeot? They have some serious sludge issues. To the point where Peugeot called it a 'flawed' engine. I'd argue they all are lol but the 2.0 apparently runs too hot. Can't remember why
-
At lest I think it's the 2.0 :-\

Naaw its from a 1.6, look at the peg sticking out of the filter.
Citroën part no: 1109 AY, don't ask ;D

Yes, I did my bosses Berlingo a couple of weeks ago. The pollen filter is still on the bench, as the van doesn't match any of the descriptions we've found. Bloody French cars!

If Berlingo III, passenger footwell up to the left (right ?). Remove plastic panel.

:o
Good grief!

Our workshop van had the same problem, 3 different pollen filters, all wrong, end up getting it from shitron.Airfilter was the same dance. It's French.

2.0hdi is almost bomb proof if maintained properly

1.6 PSA diesel engine on 11 plate mazda with 110k on clock
got to be at least 50k on that filter

Turbo gone? Whining?
-
Turbo gone? Whining?
turbo ok bit play but nothing major
but when we pull sump off there was some foreign objects at the bottom , maybe left from engine repair

Then wtf am I thinking of 😂
There's a pug engine where it runs too hot and sludges up the oil. That coupled with a tiny gauze filter in the turbo inlet line that has to be modified (or completely removed). They blow turbos all the time and still do even if u follow the exhaustive turbo replacement instructions?
-
You are thinking about the 1.6 HDI/TDCi (the one in this thread), the early iterations of this engine are sensitive to oil changes. ABSOLUTE MAX 12000miles intervals or it
probably will gum up the oil feed line and bugger the turbo. And if you don't remove that gauze filter and change the oil lines the new turbo will be fooked soon. I believe one of the reasons is the relatively low oil capacity of 3.75 L. But idiotic service intervals past 12k is probably the main issue..

Lots of VAG kit on longlife 20k intervals die early too :-X

Thanks for clearing that up :y
We won't even touch turbo replacements on these. You get a two page document with a new turbo on all the things you have to do to maintain the warranty. I'll see if I can find it...

Just as a side note the early 1.6 HDi will go for along time if serviced.. I've seen ones with 150k miles on the original turbo.

I still think the old 20hdi is a harder engine, seen several with way past 200k miles and still good :y

Here you should be buying lottery tickets once it hits 100K miles :-X
