Hi all...
My CD 2003 2.6 saloon has 16" wheels. Can I put 17" wheels on it. Or will other things have to be done to it.
Thanks. :y

Yep

What are you thinking? Any Omega MV6/Elite wheel will be a straight swap and will use 235/45/17 tyres :y

Thanks chaps...simple question, straight answers.
Yes, looking at 17" Elite :y

That's alright then ;D

(Ideally) needs some Tech2 lovin' on the instrument panel and the MID.

Changed my mind...the 17" are not as good condition as the 16". Gonna swap them back. ;) When the better weather comes, I'll have a go at refurbishing the 17", then they may go back on.
Just out of curiosity, can the Elite Estate (2001) run legally with 16" wheels on. They are on it at the moment, but have not been on the road. Saves having to buy another set of 17". :y

If the tyres are XL, then no reason why not :y

Ah....that's sorted it, Al, those two little letters XL :(
The 16" are going in to be replaced tomorrow. The new tyres are not XL rated.
Being as the car only did 3000 miles last year pottering, with two runs to Dorset, I ordered four budget tyres from Tyre shopper...cost £198 all in. However, they rang this morning, and said they have a backlog with the tyres and can't deliver or meet my fitting date. So they have upgraded me with tyres from mid range which are £337 all in, and they will be ready to fit thursday, but said they will cover the extra cost and I have nothing more to pay. Just checked and they are not XL.
Flippin' good job I have got two trolley jacks and axle stands. I have changed more wheels this last couple of days than National tyres.
My head tells me to sell all three and buy a brand new car.....but my heart won't let me. :'(

Before you panic, double check the chassis plate on door post and handbook... I say XL because that's all I ever fitted to mine, but I did use it to it's full potential ;)
Equally check the other estate, as that will tell you what the 16" should be ;)

Load rating must exceed 93, speed rating on a v6 must be W, Y or Z
16" are perfectly safe, but you may need to declare as a mod to insurance
