hello,
I bought (got from a friend) an omega 2,2 ecotec petrol z22xe. ithe idle is steady but vibrates and it revs jerky/misfire tyype from idle to 2k, up from 2k its not 100% fine but much better. limited to 4.5k revs, runs very rich and consumtion is dramatic
fault codes.

tested new maf no changes, it has no difference if the maf is pluged or unpluged, tested voltages 1pin 12v input 2pin 5input 3pin ground 4pin 0.8v output (steady not changing while opening trottle) (dont know if the maf functions by frequence or voltage changes couldnt find information) as i know the IAT sensor is incorporated in the maf for the 2.2 engine.(shouldnt it be a 5/6 pin maf than not a 4pin?) resistencis from the pins are identical for the new end old maf.
trought OBD2 live it shows a constant 153.08g/s (0g/s when unplugged) flow and -40*c intake temperature.
changed the CAM sensor no change for a while run without the 4.5k rev limit, but same engine problems. now doesnt revs again.
measured pin resistencies same for old and new sensor.
i have a broken connection for the post cat lamda heating but it should not give problems like this trought obd2 lamda1 fluctuates from .1-.9v lamda2 0.4-0.6.
checked timing belt and timing strange thing it have x20xev cam sprokets and timing belt, but the friend said he hasnt changed them while having the car and it run fine.
tried other coilpack / spark plugs no change in behavior or codes. dont see any vacuum leaks.
only strange thing other than the poor running i notice is if I screw the filler cup completly it builds vacuum or presure in the tank (it lets air in/out when unscrewed)...
ANY ideas?? ;)

Sorry about that.
limited to 4.5k revs,
Cam sensor stuffed. Buy genuine
-
Do You think all this problems could be from the CAM sensor?
-
Almost certainly. Only buy genuine from a genuine Vx dealer that you genuinely have to walk into :y

updates, made some modifications to the aftermarket sensor so its as close as possible and centered 1-2mm to one side and now ir revs all the way, refited the GENUINE ''broken'' the same way and works too, runs better but still rich. so one problem solved.
the thing i dont like that it makes no difference when the maf is unplugged i have 2 mafs, with same results and when connected to the OBD live feed it shows max readings 153.00g/s and -40* inlet air temperature...

got the sensor running it was just out of position, but still runing poorly but now revs all the way.
i found that the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose is not connected , and cant find where it should connect to, does someone knows where it runs to?
-
Connects to the throttle body iirc :-\
