But enough about that, did you see the omega at the front of the cortège?

Too many memories from those days, with some old army pals last week good to see them again.

I know Lord Norm has reason to be jumping for joy that he's gone but I do tend to agree with his point of view about McG being a coward.

Me too. Two sad things about his demise. It didn't happen 50 years sooner, and it wasn't long, slow or painful enough.
He was a bloodthirsty psychopath, who loved to torture and kill people for the fun of it. He also fired the first shots on bloody sunday, which caused panic among young squaddies who reacted as you might expect. It worked out perfectly for McGuiness, as the propaganda from that day was the best recruiting campaign the IRA could have wished for.
As Lord Tebbit said "the world is a slightly sweeter place today".

He was an animal I know of 2 occasions when he could have been taken out while I was serving over there and the troops were told to hold fire

Recorded the day of the Enniskillen bombing. Brought tears to my eyes the first time I saw it. Skip to 3.35
