Title: Window tinting...
Post by: JDX on 31 March 2017, 17:21:09
Has anyone had their rear windows tinted on a facelift estate lately?
How much did it cost?...are you pleased with the result?

I personally would have a look at the tailored mesh window sets that can be bought for £60 and are easily reversible and more plod friendly

I have full limo-tint on my estate, nothing on front windows, was around £120, about 4 years ago.

You notice the benefit, in the summer,

I have these: http://www.blinds4cars.com/acatalog/Vauxhall-Omega-Sun-Blinds.html

They're superb and, as I may have mentioned, I have a brand new set spare as well ::)

..... and more plod friendly
As long as you don't tint the screen or front door windows, you can do what you want with the windows at the back ...... you could brick them up if you wanted  ;)

How do you guys with dark tints find reversing at night? The Navara has dark tints as standard and when I reverse that at night all I can see is the Sat Nav reflection in the rear view mirror.  ;D
I know it has door mirrors but it's nice to have a rear view of exactly what is behind.  ::)

It's an Aventura so reverse camera is standard fitment, probably for that very reason.  :y

My Merc has factory 'limo' tints .... nothing is standard on a Merc ..... but don't have a problem seeing out in the dark. But it has parking sensors as well as mirrors  ;)

It's not the lack of toys, it's the upright rear screen that causes reflection.  :y

Quite right.  :y  I spent a large chunk of my life towing a caravan so I'm used to not seeing what's behind me, (opening for nasty caravan comments there)  ;D it was more of a question to see if it affects a normal car.  :y

Ah, it's just the Navara then.  :y  The reflection is there going forwards as well, wish I hadn't mentioned reversing now.  ::) ;D

It's a cab thing ;) both Sprinters and the Transit at work are the same... Sprinter back window effectively projects the clocks into the centre of the screen. Almost annoying  ;D
