Title: High miler experienced today .....
Post by: Lincs Robert on 04 April 2017, 22:36:34
Taxi today from Limerick to Shannon airport.

2004 Volvo S80 D5 auto, with 501k miles on the clock! Yes, miles, not km.

In speaking to the driver (who has had the car from 30k miles), he puts the longevity down to oil changes @6k miles.

So there you go, that's the most I've experienced......

But you forget, apparently the D5's eat head gaskets and blow their auto boxes every 50 feet.  ::)  ;D

What was the interior like on the Volvo? I've heard they wear the years/miles well but that is extreme!

Well, I'd take a bit creaky at 500k, particularly as Taxis dont lead the easiest of lives!  :)
