Title: Why tracking is a waste of time on an Omega

And not clear from photo, but is visible, it has gone through the steel wire reinforcements.

Usual sort of place in most towns, that offer tracking or super doper 4 wheel alignment.

Obviously, I'm not talking about the sort of places that do proper geometry checks, such as WIM, which is what the Omega needs.

On the upside, they were GY F1 Assym2's.  So no tears shed over them ;D.  Pieces of junk.

Nothing wrong with that tyre, just that most of it has been used to resurface TB's local BP Garage Forecourt. ::)

Its off TBE. I don't get to drive it.  She does. Up the motorway. At speed.

So a lucky catch really

But you knew that before you had it tracked :P

My brother's Corsa does this. And no matter what I/a garage does, we can't get it to stay aligned. I started wondering this morning if the inner wings have folded a little (an 06 plate car that's never had an accident shouldn't though, I think)

I think it might be time to say bye to that car

I have heard good reports about The tyre shop at Witham, so going to give them a try in the next couple of weeks. Will report back with findings.

Please do... Assuming I decide to swap everything over onto the other one I'll need geo doing and I'm still working out where to go.

Will ask them to set it up to WIM settings, and then post up the results on here for expert opinion. Would be very handy for us far eastern OOFers if it is as good as Ive heard it is.  :y
Hoping to make time in the next week or two, so will let you know.  :y

That was quite a while ago though, and ime these places can be like restaurants. If one good operator leaves, the whole place can go downhill quickly.
Keith B recommended Europit at Heybridge, based on good reports from ABS members in the past. I went there a few months ago, and couldn't begin to describe how awful every possible level of the service was, and the Colchester branch I tried the next week wasn't that much better.

Front or rear tyre....?

Could be subframe out of alignment with rear....?

Poly bushes or normal rubber...?

Does the vehicle, the tyre came off, regularly get bumped up a curb...?

Front. And its the age old camber issue, not ever picked up on these tracking/4 wheel alignment tosh.

Poly bushed, and she knows if she bumped up and down kerbs with those crap Irmscher wheels, I'd kill her. Twice.

;D
