Title: Poor Mrs LD - Been a tough few weeks
Post by: Lazydocker on 22 April 2017, 13:19:35
So, after our handsome little man was born just under 6 weeks ago we thought the hospital visits were nearly done... How wrong we were ::)

Having been really ill for 12 days she was admitted to hospital on Wednesday 5th. Little did we know that she would be diagnosed with a lifetime condition, start treatment on a drug that requires individual patient funding and spend 2 and a half weeks in hospital!

Finally got her home again yesterday to spend time with her family and bond with her new son, having spent almost half of his life in hospital!

The future is now about changing our diet and lifestyle, although these are not actually controlling factors, to try to reduce future issues.

It's been tough but seeing her back to how she was a couple of years ago after finally getting a diagnosis and treatment. Just a shame it's been so hard to get to this point... From misdiagnosis through failure to attend and bad advice, it's been hard.

Thankfully all is now looking much brighter!

Poor girl  :(  Hopefully, now you know what's actually going on, she can manage her condition so as to enjoy your new baby to the full. They are not little and cute for long, so every day needs to be cherished.

Guessed you would be... We've not hidden it but not been shouting about it as there are a few people we didn't want to know until it was all over :y

Very sorry to hear this. Sounds a bit similar to a situation in our own family not that long ago. A serious health issue misdiagnosed for 2 years, with untold suffering in the meantime. Its absolutely horrible to experience.
In fact the mention of diet / lifestyle makes me wonder if its the same problem.
I hope (unlike our case) that accurate diagnosis now brings the right treatment, to alleviate matters for  your whole family (especially Mrs Cakey) for the future.  :y
