Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 29 April 2017, 11:57:13
The Ipcress file (1965) BBC2  1.45 P.M.

Plenty of steam trains and cold war intrigue.........oh and Michael Caine.

Not a lot of people know that. :)

Thanks Opti! :-* :-* :-* :-* :y

That is one of my favourite films, and with delicious Michael Caine.  I also love the later (1971) Get Carter  when he plays one of his greatest performances. :-* :-* 8) 8)

Lizzie....I was quite surprised to find steam locomotives still in service in 1965. I thought they had all been scrapped. :-* :-*

No Opti.  Scheduled WR steam disappeared that year; SR in 1967, and then finally the MR in 1968 with the Fifteen Guinea Specials . ;)

Get Carter was a great film, the re-make with Stallone was [like the re-make of The Italian Job]a travesty of the original.

Don't get Lizzie started on old coinage, Bigron.

She still laments the passing of the groat when she was a small girl. ;) ::)
