Swmbo is giving me grief due to the caravan taps not behaving itself. First off, the spout part flew off and she got soaked. Tried various 'o' rings but to no avail. Super Steel.
Obviously, at some point I shall have to replace it if the Super Steel lets go. Geez...they cost a fortune !!! Now, mine has an electrical wire in it so I assume thats a micro switch. What does it do. Is that what pumps the water up. Non switched ones are twice as cheap. :)

The switch is for putting 240v through the tap when your missus is getting on your wick, Tony. :y

Somehow, during posting, half my text disappeared ??? I had also said, that the bottom of the spout has now shot out, much to her displeasure. So I have stuck that back with Super Steel, too. There must also be a mimiscule hole in the top of the spout, as we have developed a small fountain about a foot high when she turns on the hot tap. So thats had a dollop of Super Steel also.
It looks a total bitch to get at to replace the tap.

"It looks a total bitch to get at to replace the tap" - it is! My son, thinner and more flexible than me, had to wriggle into the undercabinet to replace the microswitches that activate the 12V pump: I didn't know he had such a comprehensive Anglo-Saxon vocabulary!
Might I suggest a caravan breakers? The taps don't often go wrong and I know how criminally expensive caravan shop spares are.

Two types of caravan tap :-
1 has a switch in it to turn the pump on.
T'other doesn't as the system has a pressure switch that senses the drop in pressure as the tap opens.
