Where as I would say avoid Pagid like the plague as in the last 18 months or so the quality has gone crap.

Consequently I now hunt out Brembo, ATE, Bosch, Delphi discs

Hmmm,I've had no issue with Pagid but in fairness haven't fitted any for a while which may explain that ::)

I've had issues with pagid pads over last couple of years, to the point the last ones were binned after a few weeks on the Zafira and replaced with something capable of slowing it down.

I'd just assumed it was ECP up to their usual tricks of supplying fake parts

I've bought Brembo pads for the rear of the VW, yet to fit them though.

They used to be pretty good but, I have had a few now with issues so it may be a badging exercise and the manufacturer has changed.

From experience, if you can get them at trade prices, genuine Audi discs are not badly priced.
They also have the benefit of having a silver coloured coating; the new pads immediately remove the coating from the area on the disc face in contact with the pads, leaving the remaining coating, including the centre around the hub, which prevents unsightly rust forming on the hubs for a lot longer. Most replacement discs don't have any form of coating on the hub area and begin rusting within a very short space of time which, in my opinion, looks unsightly, especially if easily visible where the spokes of the alloys are widely spaced.
I've also used Mintex discs and pads on many cars including my Omegas with no issues at all.
