Title: Nicky Hayden
Post by: Migv6 le Frog Fan on 18 May 2017, 23:11:17
I know there are a few bikers and people interested in bike racing on here, so thought I would post about this.
Nicky Hayden, former world champion, Repsol Honda MotoGP rider, and current WSB rider had a very serious accident while cycling with friends in Italy a few days ago.
Apparently a head on with a car at speed. He is in intensive care with very serious brain injuries and is said to be in an extremely critical condition.
Sad to say, it doesn't look at all good.  :(

He's always come across as a pretty down to earth approachable sort of bloke.Seems somewhat ironic that he[like a few other motorcycle racers]chuck 200mph bikes round a track-and sometimes down the concrete-for a living and then get injured doing everyday activities.Hope he gets well soon.

Similar to Mike Hailwood. He 'survived' numerous TT races and then... :(

Great shame, a major talent gone far too early, but listening to a list of the injuries he had perhaps this is actually the "kinder" outcome.

RIP

Just read on the MCN website that he had signed up as an organ donor and his organs have now been donated to help others stay alive, which seems to fit with the description of him by everyone who knew him, as the nicest most genuine person you could wish to meet.
It seems that so often its the good who die young.  :(
