Title: Elite suspension
Post by: cam.in.head on 29 May 2017, 15:56:31
Hi .i keep reading about how the elite suspension is nice and soft compared to the other models. Mine is a 2003 cdx in standard spec with standard gm dampers and front springs(rears are new kyb thou ) .what are the differences if any that make the elite softer ? . I personally thought it would have only been the mv6 models that would have a different setup ? ??

Elites have self leveling rear shocks and softer rear springs.

You can retrofit both, but bear in mind that the rear shocks cost three times the standard ones and are dealer only...

So the front springs and shocks are the same and the rear has softer springs and air shocks to maintain level. Its this rear difference that makes the car a softer ride ?so theortically speaking my car on its original gm rear shocks and if i fitted some original non levelling springs would be similar to what an elite would be with new shocks ? ?.are the kyb springs firmer? .they are certainly shorter when removed .about an inch shorter than the standard gm ones it removed off my brothers cd

The springs and shocks on yours would have been the same as your brothers from the factory.

Suspension part selection is a personal choice. If you want Elite ride then retro fit all the self levelling gubbins.
