The final seat has been declared and possibly the most wealthy borough in London has been taken by Labour for the first time.
Even Tony 'Tory' Blair couldn't win here.
What the hell is going on?
-
Yeah. I found that one a bit strange. I believe they called in Diane Abbot to help with the final count.

Apparently you can pay about £1.2 million for a one bed basement flat. Hardly socialist territory I would have thought.
If memory serves Tunnie briefly owned a shag pad in Kensington and Chelsea. Made a killing, I believe. :)

Acton. Not quite K&C.

Any part of planet London is 'posh' to an impoverished 'carrot cruncher' like me.
The crazy thing about London is that you pay more than £1M and still have to park your car on the road so that the local 'crims' can steal or damage it. :-\
-
For £1,000,000+ I want a drive that can take 30 cars, and a lawn large enough to land a plane on.

You don't have to buy. Here are some cheapish flats to rent in Kensington:

Wouldn't mind betting it has a fair student population queueing up to vote for their £9k a year Labour handout. ;)
-
From the "ruling classes" has come the most rampant Socialist types. ;)
They can afford to be Socialist and it makes a wonderful badge for them to wear.
It is a strange world ::) ::) ::) ;)

There in for a long wait, like that was ever going to happen, so many students, so gullible.

The cheapest is £1700 a week.......£6800 a month........£81600 a year. I doubt it is full of DHSS... ;)
As for the most expensive my calculator only has 8 digits. :D

No. It's more up-market than that dump ;D
I do miss my Acton pad :(
Back to the vote, if I was at Uni and some bloke was offering to make null a potential £27 to £36k debt, I would join the queue.
I left Uni in 2007, luckily I just missed the rise to £3k. I thought mine was a large debt, I paid it off in 2014.
Based on my pay off time of 7 years, if I went now it could be 28 years to pay back :o
So I don't blame anyone voting for that.

Conservatives now know what they need to be offering the young at the next election from the £360m per week #Brexit dividend, just to level the playing field. ::) ::) ::)

Sadly I now think that BREXIT will be so soft that we will be more or less still in the EU, but without any MEP's, EU Commissars, or representation on The Council of Europe. :-\
It will mean governance without representation and there will be no dividend as we'll still be paying in. :o >:(
-
Actually, there are quite a few areas of West London that are inhabited by "Champagne Socialists". They vote Labour because they can afford to do so.

I tend to agree. I think we will have a 'lite' version of 'Brexit lite'

Sorry Lizzie, I missed it somehow. But yes absolutely. I recall visiting people in W something or other, house at least 1m or so, accents so posh they sounded disabled, kids private school, and prattling on about various lefty opinions.
I was asked about my politics. I responded "somewhere to the right of Genghis Khan". Didn't go down too well ::)
-
Those who live in k+c who are British and can vote will, start to moan a little bit when comrade corbyn raise's there tax to 50% and some, then they will, try and force another election and re-vote tory.
O yah, I voted corbyn last week, its so cool, what about you and Woopurt, ;)

You imagine many of them pay uk income tax? Only in their worst nightmares ;)

Which is exactly why McDonnell's tax and spend plans wouldn't have worked out so well. ::)
But then seeing as he was sacked by Ken Livingstone back in the 1980's as Finance Chief at the old GLC for nearly bankrupting London, he has form for fantasy economics! ;D
You'd have thought the Tories would have done a hatchet job on him for that little indiscretion. ::)

Hmmmm well, if one believes the rhetoric why did they vote Labour if they evade UK taxes ?
No. You're totally wrong. They pay their taxes, but they earn so much that they can afford them.
