Hi does anyone know the part number for the resister under the batter housing on the side for the power to the fan motor. I cannot find a part number and its cracked and fan is on turbo. thanks

Note also that fans on full chat is normal in this heat, especially with Aircon on...
There's a guide for testing them before condemning anything ;)

hi dont have air con, it just the fan i can see 65w on the one on care but its cracked and rusted inside, before the fan would work with no abnormal start. when the fan kicks in now its like bank its try to lift the radiator over. the resistor has no resistance at all, i can find ones for 98 upwards but the one i have looks similar to the one in web page. I can only find 70w at 5% resistance. Ive tried it with an electric coil resister just to see the difference but its not desired for damp etc. and fan start like before slow build up, but cannot use it as its an open type not covered. also is 140w +/- 15%. fans only 4 months old and so is the thermal switch. changed them at same time.

ive found part number bosch 3134 503 02A manufacture 1993. vauxhalls from 1993 to 1998. but can only find the part new from Russia, is there anywhere ells that might sell them part number for uk comes up with nothing. says is 6% resistants. on info. ??

Ive been testing the thermostat switch for the fan, one side of the switch connects at 96c so thinking that's the resistor side, and the other pole connects at 102c so that must be the full voltage side. also looking at the wiring there is a cooler fan for the ecu box as can hear it activate and blows cold air. that comes on on the resistor side on the switch, as have tested the wires and they go to the cooler fan as well as the resistor.
has a bit of plastic on case stick up and two poles on this side left and right left resister side and right straight battery volts. middle bottom is feed. so looks like this l l
l Ive cleaned the resister of rust and now its dead only sprayed it with some contact cleaner. so the rust inside most be the only thing letting the power though.

well sorted now fan working at both temps come on on dash at 92c boiling in a pain must be a bit off. replaced the resister and nice quiet fan now. 1.2 resistance on 92c side with the resister working.fan voltage 12.86 when alternator power 13.92 volts. so sorted now.
