Trying to buy an exhaust manifold and I don't know whether I have an egr valve or not?
-
If egr fitted, there should be a fitting at the rear end of the manifold next to the bulkhead.
As I understand it, all 2.2 petrols have egr fitted :-\
-
Not on either of my 2.2s, nor on the 2.2 on which I changed the head gasket (now scrapped).
-
I thought they all did as well :-\
-
Ok, x22se is a variation of the old x20se and has cabled throttle and an egr...
Y22se has dbw throttle and no egr...
Is that a reasonable statement :-\
-
X22 not fitted to Omega I believe. Y22 and Z22 were. Both DBW.
-
Mine are certainly DBW.

Z22 is chain driven direct injection lump ;)
-
I've got a 02 reg and a 53 reg 2.2, just for parts, and both have an egr valve.
-
2.2 petrol has the z22xe fitted as far as I'm aware, the one I am breaking has an EGR fitted at the rear passenger side

Earlier ones were y22, like for example tunnies old heap workhorse.

Where is the engine code TB ?
-
Car Pass or stamped on block ;)
-
Mine is the Y22XE, it's belt driven....
-
Petrol 2.2 engines are Y22XE and Z22XE, both belt driven. Z22XE fitted to 2000-02(?) -> later models.
EGR is located on cylinder head, between firewall and cylinder head on Z22XE, dunno is it same on Y22XE. So there is no place for EGR valve on exhaust manifold.
