Title: Front passenger window stuck
Post by: tigers_gonads on 22 June 2017, 13:13:41
As above

During the heat spell last week, the front passenger window stopped working.
Its locked in the up position at the moment.
When you try to lower or raise it from either switch, you can here a click from the motor behind the panel.

Before I remove the door card, my thinking is that the mech has jammed up due to the heat and fingers crossed a loosening of a few joints and a good grease up should do the job  :-\

Unless anybody has any other (sensible)  :P ideas ?

Personally I would take the door card off and have a good poke around to see if anything is jammed up (the plastic runners and has the window come out of its holder etc).

Last time I tried to force one using up down with the motor the window smashed.  >:(

Well washed the car for the first time in months  :-[
Had the power washer aimed at the offending window seal for a minute or so to blast the crap out.
Opened the door and feeling brave / stupid, gave the window switch a tiny stab and as if by magic, I got a crack as it broke away from the seal and down it went  :D

I've cleaned out the gully that the glass slides in so fingers crossed it should be okay now  :y

That's one thing off the list anyway  ::)

Thanks  :)

Clean the glass and it's exposed edges and apply silicone spray to the rubbers just to be sure.
