EuroCarParts are currently offering a code reader OBD-II for £19.99. Is it likely to be any good?

It doesn't display live data, which makes it very limited. One that does is only a few quid extra, and is what you should buy.
Be aware that most Omegas aren't OBD compliant, so none of these devices will work.

The 2.6 should be obd2 because the vectra b gsi is

Thanks Nick - I'll leave it alone; might have know, from ECP!

You can get a maxiscan on ebay that will give live data
Autel are good, I have a konwei which is like a copy of an autel

Do you have an Android device Ron, if so ScanMyOpel App is worth a go, 2 version Free and Pro, Pro Version is only a few quid, your need a Bluetooth ODB2 Dongle as well about a Fiver off the Bay.

No zirk: for an engineer I'm a technology dinosaur - all I've got is a basic phone that just goes "ring, bloody ring" when a call comes in and that's all I need, no bells or whistles!

The genuine Autel won't be sold on egay, only the cheap Chinese clones of it.
Some members have had issues with the fake Autels, which have been entirely resolved when refunded, and a better sourced genuine one bought.
