I put it on waiting for the half six news. Only too a few questions before I was calling for a hammer to tw*t the telly with.
"Who gave the famous speech 'Never, in the field of human conflict......' " Pass.
"Which battle is depicted on the last surviving piece of the Bayeux tapestry?" Pass.
Mastermind? Surely, if they're going to let celebrities who we've never heard of do it, they should call it 'Celebrity Minimind"?

That would be the battle of Halley's comet. :)
The first one was some booze-soaked Tory from years ago.

The only good socialist is a dead socialist.

In 1968 one of our teachers was as far left as they come who did hate British history, another was as far right as they come and highly criticized the welfare state and uttered statements along the lines of "don't you kids think it will help you if you don't work hard"; it was highly amusing for us youngsters when the two came together. :D :D ;)
The ironic thing is the latter teacher who I admired has been proved wrong! ::) ::)

No I don't. Don't watch pointless either.

My curiousity got the better of me, so I did some looking up. I failed to recognise any of the names other than the host, so Google time . . .
Host John Humphrys
Contestant Shappi Khorsandi
Recognised her after a Google. A not particlarly funny comedienne
Contestant Chris Stark
Google produced loads of Chris Starks. If he's on Radio One I assume it's not the classical conductor
Contestant Piers Taylor
Google says a TV architect. Still didn't recognise him
Contestant Lee Pearson
Google says British Para-Olympian. Well I know who he is now
Yes. I have finally concluded that I really am an old fart that lives on planet Zog
-
If you are, Mister Rog, then so am I - they are all Z-listers, at best!
Who the F are they? ???
Ron.

Ron.
With the exception of the Paralympic chap, i think they are "anyone already contracted to the Beeb so they can be had on the cheap" ::)
-
That's a fair assumption, Jimmy. Was this "Daytime Telly"?
Ron.

Interesting architect with some nice projects under his belt, but was also co-host of "100k House" (think "Grand Designs" for poor people) on the beeb.
Unsurprisingly, given his profession, about as loony leftie as they come.

I don't watch celebrity anything. Its clearly TV made for the trailer trash that's sweeping our once great country.
I'm bemused that people watch it because of some low rate, has-been "celebrity" is on it. But then I never understood BGT or the depressing soaps.
-
Try to steer clear of "celebrity" shows, i hate them with a vengeance. >:(
-
Yep, I agree. But if you watch celeb mastermind, you can come across as a genius to ........well......to yourself. ;D
