It would have been rude to decline his kind offer

I've seriously misjudged you, Opti. His and hers jags. I'll bet she's really glad that wiper linkage went. :y

The seized spindle in the wiper mechanism was fixed with my own bare hands for zero expenditure, and the wipers now move with the precision of an expensive Swiss watch.
As for the F-Type R, I merely asked about a trade in for my XFR. :)

WTF has happened to you? Have you been given 12 months to live or something? You've only had the XFR for a matter of months, and you're bound to lose a wodge of cash on it.
What have you done with tightwad?

Almost a year. ;)

Tightwad is my identical twin. He is the cretin who went out in the pissing rain to fix the wipers.

And then my next question. Where, in this poxy little country, are you going to be able to drive quick enough so as to see the difference in performance between the two?
-
Like the looks of that opti, bet it sounds terrific.

For the 14 year old inside me Jaguar have a button that makes the exhaust sound orgasmic. :)
-
And there's me getting excited about having a 9 year old Mondeo that runs on narrow boat fuel! ::) ;D ;D ;D
Looks like your garage could do with a spruce up though M'lud! :)

I bet , you wouldn't need music with that 😀

It's a shed full of crap. :)

Yes, the sound is enough to give even dear old STMO a semi........(on a good day)

I doubt I would get my dogs crate in the back of that. Totally impractical rich mans toy. Good job you've got the signum for trips to the tip.

Of course. :)
......except I'm not rich.

You won't be if you keep buying jags. ;D

Very nice :). Although for a man of your advancing years, perhaps something a little easier to get in and out of would be more appropriate? ;)

A likely story ...... ;D ;D ;D ;D

You may be right, Jimmy. Something terminally dull but accessible may be more suitable for an elderly gent waiting for the grim reaper.
Something like a diesel Volvo perhaps. ::)
-
Or an Astra? :D
-
That's the spirit! With plenty of space in the glove box for a spare colostomy bag :).
In all seriousness it's a really nice car. I would not have one in red mind you. A bit "mid 80's pornographer " for my tastes.
Is the performance gap between this and the XFR noticeable?

Yes....but not night and day different.
It has an extra 50 BHP (550 Ps) but even with AWD which this one has weighs about 250 KG less. It is properly quick. :y
-
Or an Astra? :D
Yeah....cos a diesel Passat CC is, like, well down with the kids ;D ;D
-
Ooo.
Love a round of sh!t car top trumps ;D

You can't lose on here, most of them have omegas.
-
They do look and sound great.
Not sure how well there selling thou.
One of the dick vehicle movers at Castle Brom would always open it up thru the rattle repair bay just for the noise.
-

Know a few guys who work in finance and internal audit at JLR and apparently they aren't meeting what was hoped. Then again I think they're just too expensive.
My old boss was all geared up to swap from his 4.2 XF for one but just couldn't justify the monthlies.
-
Not much keen on the styling myself. None of the grace and elegance of Jags of old.
-
I rather like the styling, the only things I don't like are the colour (as above) and the engine.
If I'd paid close to a 6 figure sum for 5L and 550bhp, I'd want to see more than a plastic cover. Opening the bonnet on my dad's e-type presents you whith beautiful chrome rocker covers and a "proper" engine block.

Jag lost their way with the series3 XJ6: until then, they had been modern, stylish trendsetters. The current XJ returned to that by ruthlessly binning the backwards looking, badly-adjusted-photocopier styling nearly 30 years too late. The glass panel in the rear roof pillar is a bit awkward looking, but the rest of carries off the aggressive slightly flashy look that made Jaguars name. The interior is a good blend of traditional materials in a modern style, unlike the German turn the lights off in a coal mine approach.

Very nice Opti, I love the styling on those F-type`s and they sound gorgeous too :y

It is nice, Mr Gav, but not £84645 nice, which what they are asking. Registered in March 2017 and with only 1200 miles beneath it's shapely wheels. I think it is overpriced.
I'll stick with the Signum. It's more of a babe magnet. ::) ::) ::) ;)
-
I didn't even ask to drive it. It was almost thrust upon me.
-
I like that, it's way out of my league but I do like it. :y

15k less than an M4 CS with all the boxes ticked and far more of a babe magnet than any Signum ;D
-
You're kidding!
£100k for a 3-series coupe?! The world has definitely gone mad. ;D

I bet our Lord Opti has known a few women like that as well! ;D
