You need one now to use iPlayer, on any device.

So create an account and it will work no probs.

I've entered the I'd required - but it seems that many smart tv users have the same problem.

Gary Lineker wants another pay rise so they cant afford iplayer any more.  :D

I've entered the I'd required - but it seems that many smart tv users have the same problem.

Just first hit returned mentioning account required in 2017.

I'd look into updating smart TV app, these often don't update automatically. Either look for an update in the devices App Store. I'd probably remove it completely, install it fresh.

Most SMART TVs don't bother too much with app updates.  Which is why I'd not pay a premium for the extra features.  iPlayer, though, probably would get an update on a branded TV less than 3 or 4 years old.
