Title: In Autocar magazine this week.....
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 26 July 2017, 12:47:19
.....there is a road test on an 'abortion' called Mini Countryman.

There is much not to like about this car.

1. It is incredibly ugly. Ugly enough to scare small children and horses.
2. With added extras  it comes in at £35295.
3. It 'crushes the scales' to the tune of 1753 Kg........about the same as a Mercedes E class or Jaguar XF.

Why does this car use the name Mini ( which still presumably means small) when it weighs about the same as 3 of the originals?

Woeful sack of shit.

Trade in value after 3 years/36000 miles is a paltry £14350.

Just checking for understanding, you don't rate it?! ;D

There are a couple of middle-aged ladies who drive these walking their dogs at the same time as me. The tiny shark fin aerial at the rear of the roof has a red LED light on it which flashes when the alarm is set. Looks bleedin stupid.

Viewed from the front the ugly f*cker  wears the same expression as a constipated hippo. :)

Indeed I don't, Mr Varche. :)

Depreciation of £21000 in 3 years. £140 a week. :-\

I though that the Mini was meant to hold it's value.

Back in 2005 maybe, now just like any other badge out there I think.

By that token the original Bini should have been called .. Oh, maybe the Allegro? Nope, still too lardy.. Maxi, perhaps? Maybe getting somewhere, but...  Landcrab?.. Princess?.. Ambassador?  :D I wonder how many daft hipsters would be queueing up to buy one if that had happened? ::)

I think the Ford Mustang 5.0 is around £35 grand , personally I would prefer one of those.

I think most 'right thinking people' would prefer the Mustang, Mr Tilbo. :y

It gets worse. The Mini/Bini comes with a pissy 1499cc 134 BHP 3 cylinder turbo petrol lump....... and an electric motor which shuts down at 78 MPH. :-\

Must be the target market, my mother (mid sixties) wants a mini clubman, a similarly ugly little (or rather big) so n so. I really do not see the appeal and £35k is obscene.

A moment of redemption but too late to save it from Room 101, Henry. :D
