Title: Ebay buy issue
Post by: danzigfan on 27 July 2017, 09:10:44
Hello, I'd like to ask a question about a seller I know some of you bought items from.
http://ebay.com/itm/232406590592

Above is the item I want to buy...well after my first contact  with him, he was very informative about what part numbers should I be looking for, to get a compatible part...but after I reminded him the item needs to be sent to where I live, there was no response from him anymore.
I have a few explanations - he got heart attack, he ran away, he didn't get my mail or he just doesn't want to have anything to do with some shady country from central europe ::) :P ;D

His feedback is 100% so i just don't get it. At least he could tell me to F... .FF.... :D

It does say on the listing that he only ships to U.K. addresses, so maybe he just expects people to read it.

I know,  that's why I politely asked him "if he could", after all he's the only one with the item I need.

He is  top bloke, bought 4 alloys, got a 5th free and was offered 5 tyres but had to decline the rubber (the saloon is only so big when you have a small passenger onboard too)

I would like to ask, if someone could buy this and send it to me :-[ That someone should probably have an ebay seller account, so I could pay you via paypal. My knowlege about that is simply "klick pay" , not much more :-X
I'll pay for cost+delivery and your fee + delivery to where I live (SI-4273 postal code).
I'm willing to pay in advance once you decide to help me with it.
Regards, Stan

I forgot to add - If postage costs are calculated depending on weight of the item,  you can bin aluminum abs block, after all only part I need is abs ecu. I hope I'm right.

To work out costs over to you, its fair to say most of us would be using Royal Mail - www.royalmail.com - which has an interactive price list.  Compared to many other countries, our parcel postage is quite high.

I have a (knackered, so you can't have that!) ABS ECU in garage I think, so can weigh and measure size (might not be today, depends when I get back), so you can get a feel for cost of postage from UK.

I can't get to our postal offices easily or often, but if nobody else is prepared to, I'm happy to do it for you.  My only reluctance comes from the fact the seller is a breaker, so won't know if ECU completely works or is intermittent (these DX ones start out being intermittent, which gets gradually worse), which means all the risk of it being faulty will fall on you :(, and no comeback from seller on the international postage etc, or if I do it, it might be a couple of weeks before it gets posted, so might not be with you until a month after its purchased.

I'm avare of that TB,  thanks a lot. About postage costs - an OOF member sent me an exhaust manifold some four  years back,  for my previous 2.0 and it was 25£ for a quite heavy piece of metal and it arrived in five days IIRC. I hope someone will be willing.
About the faults...well've found a company which can repair an abs unit close to me, for 150€ but I don't know if they would even try repairing it after I messed with it :-\

Just use parcel2go and arrange your own collection and ask Nigel to remove ecu from hydraulic unit.
Unit weighs 600g Lx20cm Wx10cm Hx10cm
John.

Maybe because when I went up there to get some stuff from him he said he would buy my car from me if ever I wanted to sell it. and so what with the constant vandalism from the druggies I thought lets give him a call and see what he says and unsurprisingly he promised me several times he was coming for the car and fetching a trailer etc but after waiting in for him he never appeared and there wasn't even a phone call to say he cant make it or it wasn't worth the effort. so that's why my cage was rattled.

Or wasting a morning waiting for him, having previously arranged to collect some parts first thing. :-X

Steve at Heathrow is far easier to deal with imho, and actually goes out of his way to be helpful :y
