Title: For what reason would you do a 400 mile round trip?
Post by: shyboy on 30 July 2017, 14:50:50
Go on holiday? Look up an old flame? Get away from SWMBO for a day.
Not JamesV6CDX. He spent last Friday doing just that to help me finish my cambelt job when I got a little stuck. The man is a star of the highest quality, especially bearing in mind that he isn't quite as agile as he was due to his accident.
We had a great afternoon ( well! 2 hours actually), sorting things out and if I could have got hold of front discs and pads late in the day he was going to do that as well. I learned a lot and am eternally grateful and very impressed.
Thanks again, James. You can go back to working on your own stuff now.  ;D
Bill.

Must admit, when I saw his offer of help in your other thread I was surprised due to the distance as he's local'ish to me. Credit where it's due, what a guy for putting himself out like that.
Well done James, top bloke.  :y

I echo that; although it was more than a couple of years ago, James came to me to do my cambelt, thermostat (and he didn't swear about the B bolt....not a lot, anyway), oil change and general tidying up. Brilliant, modest and unassuming man.   :y :y :y

Yes. I should have said that, too. I am SO glad that he is a lot better now, after his accident.

They are genuine offers - meet any reasonable expenses and I'm happy to do them with no intention of profiting from it :y

No bother - although I will probably do this one via train as it's a great ride all past the river Severn :y
