Hi any advice on replacing the fuel filter on a 2.2dti and also it's location? Thanks.

Top left of engine bay iirc. Get engine hot, remove filter lid, replace filter, top up with diesel magic to top, replace lid, start car and keep medium revs applied, may cough a couple of times but should be ok.
If you get too much air in the system it will have to be bled properly.

if you are interested Laser do a tool product which is a priming pump that fits onto the fuel line from filter to injection pump . no need to cut any pipes. Laser tool number 3463
