Title: stripping an omega in a morning
Post by: paul l on 11 August 2017, 14:00:16
I've just bought a complete car, only wanted the seats to be honest and I can take off whatever else I need as long as it stays rolling, its a 2.6 mv6. Any suggestions of items that best take to get my moneys worth? Lights bumper etc. I'm only going up in my omega, so limited to what I can bring back

No, the headlights won't fit. Well they probably would actually, but get smashed when you close the bonnet!

Yes.

But you need the bonnet, bumper, crash bar and clips etc... The looms to the headlights would also be prudent.

You might get away with the loom tails and trimming your grill frame. Only the inner corners are a different shape.

Utter rubbish.

A little nib needs to be ground off the inner corners, and then they will fit fine. A small wiring mod needs to be done, the details of which are on the site somewhere. Originally posted by Elite Pete (iirc) if it helps.
I did this mod to my p/fl, but it was a long time ago so details are a bit fuzzy.

The agreement is I can take of what I can carry, the owner of said car gets to weigh in the rest and keeps what it makes over the bridge, hence the need to get as much off as I can I about 3 to 4 hours before the 3and a half hour return journey. The things we do to get what we want on our cars lol

I could use a towing eye cover to replace the one missing from my MV6 front bumper ;) (they just 'pop out' apparently - which is probably why the ProjectMV6 is missing one  ::))
