Hi
I couldn't find a good how to for this, do they just push out (downwards) or is there some sort of clip holding them in? I'm doing the scuttle sealing, easy enough but the washer nozzles appear to be quite well fastened in to the scuttle panels, which is hindering my progress ::)

Why not leave the jets in place, and disconnect the pipework where it joins the scuttle above the pollen filter?
Once you've removed the foam from the bottom of the scuttle, there's no need to seal anything. Which makes removing the scuttle to work on any of the Omega characteristics much easier.

Was thinking that but then managed to push it and it popped out. So just chuck the foam away? It's sodden, and more or less starting to fall to pieces.

As long as the foam behind the plenum under the bulb of the scuttle is no longer attached to the car, what you do with it is entirely up to you :D

Without the foam, you do get a lot more engine noise, not quite as bad as driving with the scuttle off, but not far off. Hence I've always been concerned about any advice to remove it... ...much prefer to fix the actual problem, which 9 times out of 10 is the lower windscreen seal has popped off or otherwise loose.
In 14 years of Omega ownership, I've never had to "seal" the scuttle, though have on 2 or 3 occasions had to clip the windscreen seal back in place.

Never noticed the noise difference on any of mine and all have had the foam removed...

I believe the first thing I said to you the first time I drove your white estate was along the lines of "that's tappetty"

Hmm, I might like that ;D nevertheless I just left the foam out and put a bead of sealer round the bit where it meets the bulkhead on passenger side. I know peeps are saying you don't need to but it gives me peace of mind, especially living in Scotland! At least no water will backflow into the top of the engine bay.

Made no difference to the noise on mine. Nor are there any signs of water dripping over the back of the engine which there were before I removed the foam.
