My old 190 is a 5 cylinder 2.5 diesel, which runs on wvo, which means it needs to spin over pretty quickly to get it started.
The battery is a newish Halfords 096, 70ah, 640cca and struggles a bit so I'm thinking of pitting something more pokey.
Any recommendations of what to buy and where from ?
Tia. :)

I use Tayna, if you know the Type, they will give you a selection (usually 10 plus options) at various price points. They also show all the vital stats of each battery so you can choose between them. I ordered a battery for the Swede on Friday and it arrived today, you also get a 1hr delivery slot. :y
They are showing the 190 as a type 96. If that's true then these are your options.

PS. Viewing on a mobile device cuts out on the vital stats, so view on a of.

Many thanks. Tayna is the seller I have been trying to remember all day. ;D :y
As for viewing on a mobile device - Ive had a phone capable of that for years, and I have yet to attempt it. :-[ ;D
Think I might go for this one.

I bought a couple of Exide for a Transit Diesel from carpartsbargains off the Bay, worked out about £46 each plus free Delivery a few months back, cant remember if they were 100 or 096 types though. Theve been fine ever since.

Will take a look at them too. Thanks Queeny. :-*

I bought one of these last year for my BMW 530d and it's been fine! :y

Looks good for the money, but the CCA is probably a bit low for my situation. :y

I put a Yuasa professional battery in my Omega last time (all my motor factors had when I needed it) and it spins the engine over noticeably quicker than the GM one ever did.

TBH Ive never rated GM Batteries, I have loads of shagged ones Ive taken out over the years.

In fairness, the GM one was, AFAIK, the original, so 4 years old when I got the car, and it lasted another 4 or 5 years, so can't really grumble.

That is good....I reckon car batteries are good to 4-5 years...on a car that's used just about everyday...

Fair does, it spins over my 6 cylinder 3 litre diesel lump nicely, but yes you might need a bit more power for the winter when your fuel is a bit thicker! :y
