Hi, on my 3.2 Elite I am replacing the rear springs and shocks to the standard set up. As I will not need the level switch for the gas struts can I use this switch for the zenon lights as they are not working? Thanks :)

No.
The suspension level sensor is effectively an ecu, the headlight level sensor is completely different.

No, you cannot us that in place of either headlight level sensor.

1. What is the difference between Elite springs and standard springs.
2. Are Elite Shocks air pressure ones
3. Can Elite Shocks be used with standard springs in "standard" Omega e.g. by installing hoses and add air from e.g. boot.
Still evaluating how to control rear height when towing...

3) With some modifications, I see no reason my not, but would be a fair amount of faffage - I think I'd be fitting the ECU and pump to automate it.

Thanks, modifications? I mean are they mechanically the same so just put there and create any manual system for pressured air?

Easy enough to retrofit the factory system... level sensor on right hand rear trailing arm IS the ecu... plug and loom should be visible/present beneath the rear seat insulation... pump mounts to front chassis ahead of right hand wheel beneath headlight housing... if sensor wire is present, plug for pump should also be there... might be bundled into headlight wiring ;)
No wiring present makes it much harder to do.

Thanks Doctor Gollum, have to think that factory system, too. I check what wires etc are already there. I ordered by now only the rear shocks + some tubing. Let's see what I get, I did not understand exactly what tubes the seller said that I need. My idea was first just to put air there to make the position of car good when towing a mobile home and let air go when not needed. Are standard rear springs OK for this?

Standard rear springs will be fine as they are slightly firmer than the Elite spec ones... ride comfort over handling on the Elite ::)
The pump, sensor/ecu, pipes and relay you should be able to get from a breaker... new shocks is probably best though.
An easy days work to refit :y

OK, Elite might be Opel Omega Executive -model here. Never seen in Finland, have to check breakers in the neighborhood.

If you wanted to go the manual air route might I suggest looking for any of the larger engine Omega A estates.
My 2.6 CDXi has the same air assist shocks but the air lines route to a simple Schrader valve located in the boot floor. I normally keep 5 psi in the system which makes the back end (unloaded) the same height as any other Omega A estate.
I keep a measuring stick with that height marked and when I tow, or load up the boot I use that when putting air in (using a bicycle pump) until the same height is reached, however I have been told previously that I should never exceed 30psi as the bellows may just rupture.
I never put more than 15 psi even when I collected 0.5t of fire wood.
Might be of use to you.

Thanks bootie, this is what I am looking for first. Perhaps later something Doctor Gollum informed. I ordered a "pipe" set for those shocks. Might be something similar to what you told. Let's see.

This air system described above is basically the same as fitted to the Vauxhall Cavalier CD's in the mid 80's (would be the Opel Vectra in Europe) - an air valve located on the lip of the boot aperture to manually inflate / deflate the rear suspension as required.

I got today only shocks, tubes come next week. Shocks are GM 72119084. The air tube connector is something IK never seen. Perhaps standard pneumatic solution where hose just "clicks"?

It's a plastic fitting that pushes over the inlet on the shock, and is retained by a clip that looks a bit like a hairpin

I assume you have also ordered the plastic pipes from GM? They are supplied in various standard lengths and come with the connectors, which are 90° fittings, as Nick says, located with a cross spring clip. The ends of each pipe is flared and has an O ring which form the airtight seal. They will be self explanatory when you see them.

Yes from GM but like earlier told I do not know what I ordered, the seller just said that I need them. After having seen these shock connectors I understand that something is needed to get air in and keep it there as well. I have to wait. The seller is always right...hopefully.
