My current deal of £12/month for 2 years for internet and phone line rental is ending soon....
Anyone know of any good deals about?
I have done a search and the best I found was a SKY offering for 12months....£15/month +£20 setup fee.... :-\
I don't need super fast broadband, just the bog standard over copper wires is good enough for me......

Hmmmm. made me think that it's ages since I last looked at what I'm paying and getting. I'm the same, just want usable phone/broadband, doesn't need to be superfast, and I don't need "extras" also happy with Freeview.
I'll watch this thread with interest.

Yep, I've just switched to NOW TV for everything and it's saving me a lot!

Have a look at TopCashBack or Quidco and what deals are on offer, that can bring the price down.
If you call Virgin (on the phone) and really push them you should be able to get there Fiber Only package for around £18m for 12 or 18 months, they will try and up to £32 after then, but again if pushed, wiull stick to £18 for 18/24 months.
EE were doing deals for £15 inc Line rental, but think they after Fiber customers now, Vodafone Fibre Only can be had for around £16 to 20.

I'm with TalkTalk and last year I phoned them up and told them that I was moving to PlusNet as they were doing a deal, line rental only for 12 months for £9 per month and free internet. Without any preamble or prompting they simply said they'd match the deal and they did. :y
Mind you this was just after their massive data leak, so they were probably desperate to hang on to customers! ;D

As I said earlier, I've switched from Sky to NOW TV. Was a little disappointed to start with as the speed wasn't any better than I had despite being the faster service. Spoke to customer services and she looked at the guaranteed speeds for my line - her recommendation was to drop to the basic fibre instead of the faster one... Now have a faster service than before (and faster than the top fibre was giving!) for considerably less money!
And as a bonus, she added my TV packs free for the next 2 months as an apology for the inconvenience :y

Glad to hear a good experience, I hear a lot on the efforts behind the scenes for this so glad it's working :)

Wasn't impressed when the initial speed was so poor (for the value) but back on the basic fibre package it's actually better.
(Should add, all speeds are router reported and not from a speed test)

That shows ISP incompetence TBH. But sadly all too common :'(
